Eggshell egos

Why do some take it right to the heart?                                                                                  
                       
if everyone did, we'd all be dead or in jail                                                                                  
                       
at times the truth hits like a tainted dart                                                                                  
                       
honesty is a poison to a mind that's frail                                                                                 
                                                                                   
                       
It's kinda cowardly if we spit out some lie                                                                                  
                       
and stuttering out bullshit's utterly useless                                                                                  
                       
those we care for really need an honest reply
