Justice's Price

May they pay penance for the death
Of a just cause
     No
May they shed shame for a breath
That their scorn draws
     No
For acts about the hate they heed
As they allow
     No
For honor smiles on tales some feed
The home hearts now
     No

Put passive faces before machines
That chew by choice,
     Yes
Forget the hallowed binds between
His sacred voice
     Yes
Relieving simply tense urges
To have deflected
     Yes
The real regard for Him they purge
Justice expected
     Yes

An answer to too many men
Whose questions ask
     So
For plain and just measures, made when
Wanton crime basks
     So
Escapes balanced justice before
It would collar
     So
The evils trials showed costs more
Than a dollar
     So
