Sour apple pie

Wanna go to a country fair
with my phillies cap cocked
ever so slightly askew
and lose my edge enough
to get banjo wrapped around
America's other beauty

Moonshine and meltdown

We here stateside
cold stare at the future
with an ungrounded pride
stubborn and stupid
a bull with freshly dropped balls
running amok in a world
full of finely tuned china

So be it
young and dumb
rough and tumble
clumsy like a freshly sprout lover
but
with uncanny swagger

Under
the emperors shroud
is the body that birthed
Hip hop, jazz and blues

We
more than likely
will guide the end to everything
and
the soundtrack
will be impeccable
