Little Thieves

Mind the kibble,
lock it up tight.
Unseen mouses
work through the night.

Crunchy nuggets
left in a bowl.
Are carried away,
that is the goal.

Stashed in old shoes
and behind books.
Tucked under cushions,
they're little crooks.

No wonder the dog
named Cleo's so lean.
The mice are stealing
her canine cuisine.
