Blood Lipstick
The first night was normal
this new town was great
Everyone was friendly enough
and I had a warm welcome today
That is when it started
Shot, stabbed, and smiling a Chelsea Grin
was a body left in an alley
On the cheek was lipstick
Farther investigation revealed different
It was his own blood
I never knew him enough to care
and neither did my love
She was brilliant
Beautiful black hair
I have loved her for years
a feeling I recently learned, she shared
The next night was peaceful
I slept like a log
Word around town was
someone else was gone
You would think it was chance
if it wasn't for the mark
The killer had killed again
Leaving a bloody kiss before she embarked
The police thought it was a woman
but you never could know
It wasn't until I saw a ruby vial
that the clues started to show
In the middle of the next night
She said she needed a smoke
I waited til the door closed
before I started to get clothed
She sprinted from our home
further into town
It wasn't until I heard the gun
that I had this mystery down
I saw her kiss the dead
I shouted in frustration
I still wanted to believe it wasn't her
that this was my imagination
She said she was sorry
that she had got hooked
She wanted justice on these cheaters
a step to far she knew she took
She walked up to me
and gave me a bloody kiss
Shot me in the heart six times
"I'm sorry it had to end like this."
