a letter home

we're flying and breathless catching the breeze
thrilling it was and wonderful
to hold that delicate bird in my dirty human hand

where have I sought this when and why ?
speed and lightening the blue of the sky
down the old roads through trees and fields

just another of those emotional girls
stepping into the lime light
moving her hips when her hair is loose

she's dancing slow dances
but I go out and watch the stars
those fragile messages drawn out there in light years on black

stars singing to me in the nights light
you played, you sang out, you are still love,
don't look back -  its not you to go crushing nightingales ...

did you know, your heart has wings once worn by an angel
when you open you move just like music
wild flowers in the wind ...
