I know you think I've let you down
By moving on I've caused that frown
But I couldn't keep waiting at your door
You didn't want me around anymore 
So I had to get on with my life

You told me every single day
That you were always okay
When truth was I wasn't doing my part
That's why you ripped out my heart
Even though I was always trying

You thought I wasn't what you needed
I sat there and begged and pleaded
I had trying to be better
But you tossed me out like a stupid old sweater
I was everything you could have ever had

You made your own mistake
When you left me standing by the lake
Now you want me back for some strange reason
Well it's already been a whole damn season
I have somebody else

You should've known better than to let me go
But I guessed I really should've said something so you could know
I always wanted you around
But then you went off and left me on the ground
It was to late to say anything

So of course I moved on
I wasn't gonna stay hanging on
I found somebody who would understand my issues
I left you with a box of tissues
