Lunacy Unconquered

Lunacy Unconquered
My presence has been dateless,
Technology “approaches” my age yet science can be witless
My eyes have seen it all, even that unknown by man
Humanity, outsmart me?
No can do, for I rely on countless grains of sand.

Who am I you demand?
I go attached to Earth, like a couple hand in hand
You’d know better if you looked at the infinite dark sky
Then you’ll comprehend why I’m the all Seeing Eye.

I’m harsh, cold and not meant to be your home
Why should I allow my surface to be at your mercy?
Don’t you have your own place to roam?
The end will come eventually so spare the time and stop begging for clemency.
