Talentless, Heartless

Been so long, I can’t remember
Anything clearly, but it doesn’t matter
Cause where I am, I don’t think
Let it go as my mind shrinks

Muses are rare, like a shooting star
Wishes of inspiration unclear, too far
And on the ground, dried up words
Used so many times, now they’re unheard

Vast expanse before me, yet so little space
Nothing in it, but it helps me retrace
What I’ve done to get where I am
Visions, thoughts, and dreams, all damned

Then I start walking, to escape this rut
Panic and fear squirming in my guts
Maybe there’s something I can’t see
A better me just waiting for me

But I break down before I make it
And crack a smile, but you know I’m faking it
I’m lying to you, and to myself
Talentless, heartless, like everyone else
