Captive Angel
Fettered ankle and wrist by heavy, somber chain
Her gaze is downcast, sadness, longing, guilt
Grimy wings, tattoos, tattered rags, she is beautiful
Each desecration cherished fondly like a first kiss
His musk and lust cling to her skin like faint cologne
She’s eclipsed, curbed, and breathlessly yielding
A bloodied white rosebud, crushed beneath His foot
Her pain and humiliation always end the same way
His icy, tender fingers through long black tresses
Gentle toying, a slender silver key around her neck
Again she returns to her endless, prickling waiting
Wondering if God will ever take a wicked holiday
