cold nightmare
The cold water slowly devours me,
Licking me as if were fire
I try to get away
But there's no land here
I'm lost in an arctic ocean
A sea of raging chaos
Waves crash against me
My body now numb
I will swim, I will get things done
I will leave these icy waters
Beep beep beep beep
I'm hearing a strange sound
A strange siren?
Awake in a humid mess
On my bed I'm still at rest
At home I'm still here
But the icy waters still leave me fear

Something about this poem really drew me into it, and I was fascinated by the eerie nightmare you have painted therein with your skillful words. So much talent, to create so vivid a scene! I can almost feel the chill of the arctic air you wrote about. Excellent work, Maria! :)
