Labyrinth of Nightmares
Within a labyrinth a girl cried all alone.
She sat against one of the many dead ends she ran to
and she let herself go.
The moon was beginning to take the suns place
and the stars arose in time to stick their tongues out at the over-powering sum
while they witnessed that girl giving up all hope.
She lay on her side
curled up in a ball
singing a soft song
of slight reassurance.
The long, cold night
turned to day
and awoke the girl from her nightmare.
She awoke in her bed
covered by her favourite blanket.
It was all a dream
for her at least.
