Our Strongest Weapon
It's only words-
Which flitter by on a butterfly.
Flapping softly against the lips,
They scarcely leave at all.
Bare the heavy weight,
Mightier than the sword,
Braver than a gun,
And harder than a fist.
For the wounds may all heal,
Leaving only scars and skin.
But those words that have flown by,
Are bleeding holes that never fade.
Resting almost peacefully in mind-
To haunt every action that we take.
Which flitter by on a butterfly.
Flapping softly against the lips,
They scarcely leave at all.
Bare the heavy weight,
Mightier than the sword,
Braver than a gun,
And harder than a fist.
For the wounds may all heal,
Leaving only scars and skin.
But those words that have flown by,
Are bleeding holes that never fade.
Resting almost peacefully in mind-
To haunt every action that we take.
