This Frightening Creature Before Me

As I explored the forlorn cave,
I began to hear ear piercing cries, a very strange sound.
I had to be extremely brave
to follow the blood trail on the ground.

With flashlight in hand, rapidly shaking,
I persued the red's source.
The trail went from a straight line to red, raking,
But I had to stay on course.

I was deep in the cave now
And who knew what was in it?
I was frightened and made a solid vow
To keep my flashlight lit.

I encountered a very hollow-like spot
Extremely dark and grim.
The flashlight had almost no shot
Only turning dark to extremely dim.

And in the dim I saw something in the dim,
It was a pale face staring at me with hesitation and restraint,
You could tell this thing always brought death with him.
I could only stare back, about to faint.

This face horrified me,
it gripped me with fear.
There was no color to its eyes from what I could see,
And the creature began to near.

As it got closer, I couldn't move I was stuck
and I got more of its face.
I thought I was, literally, in hell with all of my bad luck
Because I had always doubted such a place.

The face was white with extremely small black pits
Right in the middle of the eyes,
It then exposed the thick long teeth with little red bits
That were from the desperate cries.

I then became one of those cries.
