Canvas Grin
Moments when you've smiled to much,
Face in grinning pain.
Skin stretched tight, spread across-
A happy laughing face.
No one takes it seriously,
Some say they understand.
Then look at you, laughing away,
Forget you were ever in pain.
Moments when all you can do,
Is smile and joke.
To keep the tears- that scratchy voice,
From giving your secret away.
Cause no one sees the clown crying.
Only his painted smile-
Stretched across, a canvas face,
Laughing those worries away.
Until they fade,
Leaving behind only stains.
With a never ending grin.
Face in grinning pain.
Skin stretched tight, spread across-
A happy laughing face.
No one takes it seriously,
Some say they understand.
Then look at you, laughing away,
Forget you were ever in pain.
Moments when all you can do,
Is smile and joke.
To keep the tears- that scratchy voice,
From giving your secret away.
Cause no one sees the clown crying.
Only his painted smile-
Stretched across, a canvas face,
Laughing those worries away.
Until they fade,
Leaving behind only stains.
With a never ending grin.
