Nightmare

You were in my dream last night.
You were my superhero.
I was the helpless damsel in distress.
I was crying out for someone to save me;
I was cracking under the pressures of life,
But you swept down from the sky
And carried the world away off my shoulders. 

You were in my dream last night.
You were my knight in shining armor.
I was the princess locked away in a tower.
A huge monstrous dragon guarded my keep.
He was my fears, blocking me off from the world.
But you came riding on you noble steed,
And killed my fears, reopening my heart. 

You were in my dream last night.
You were my savoir.
I was falling away from the light,
I was being engulfed in the darkness.
But you came and pulled me up
Out of the abyss of darkness I swam in
And showed me to the light once again. 

You were in my dream last night.
You were my warrior.
My heart was a secret dungeon you guarded
With your own life at stake.
But risking your own life for mine,
You fought the battles that faced me
And won each with a mighty victory. 

You were in my dream last night.
You were my stranger.
The familiar stranger that haunts my mind.
You are the one that I never want to forget,
But I cannot recognize who you are.
We passed in the alleys and shared a glace,
And continued walking our separate ways. 

You were in my nightmare last night.
You were my murderer.
With a knife that was written in love
You stabbed me in the back.
Tears trickled down my face
And blood pounded out of my spine.
I fell dead to the ground, killed by you.
