Reminder: Reciprocity
Talking directly
to someone
such that
the defenses
can be bypassed
takes being able
to speak
in such a way
as what is being said
is important enough
to get their attention
and yet not offensive
or in any way exclusive
of the person
being talked to.
More than that though,
the feeling
of real intimacy
needs to be predominate
in the conversation
such that
the other person
has the reciprocal feeling
of trust and trustworthiness
by virtue
of their having been real
and honest,
even though none
of us
really knows
if the people
we are talking to
actually exist
or are simply
someone
trying to trip
with us
just to fuck
with our minds.

This a great poem of reality. How you speak to someone means everything in a friendship or relationship. Respect, love and honor are things that are earned thru the trust of your words to someone. :)

So very true, and in the end we can only live by our own standard....there is no infinite method of validation! So, then, I talk to all else as I talk to myself, since I have no real assurance that who I am is a real person because I myself am 3rd party to my own experiences and they themselves can be challenged, including all and every and my own being. We will never know, and so any pretense at being separate from anyone is a ruse of the mind to create a self that is independent of all, and this is a physical impossibility. There is more evidence that I am in talking to myself posing as you than that I am talking to another being who is somehow not me; hello then, flowergirl.

Interesting analysis. We can know someone our entire lives and never truly know their inner workings, what motivates them, what desires haunt their dreams. It sometimes amazes me that I can look from left to right any given moment, see a thousand thousand things I know next to nothing about. Names of plants, processes by which things are manufactured and distributed, etc. There is so much that goes by us, oblivious.
