At Arms Length
I will forever wear these scars. Symbols of a youth taken. And an innocence marred.
Taken by those I trusted, given for those I loved. Until my dreams are charred. Forced to stare back at a face that's forever hard.
Never again will I wonder what lies beyond the stars. My deepest thoughts remain the thickness of the bars. Keeping me from doing irrevocable harm.
Against those who have done me wrong. And those to which i would spar. Keeping them safe and at a distance by watching this world from afar.
