Indolence 2.0
You heard the word indolent that night
and said it made you soft...
But lover, indolence is a Cheshire smile
from a white sheet in a dark room,
and as you approach me,
my prevaricating body language
taunts:
That I expect
to remain inert,
defying the third law of motion;
that I can't be moved
won't be moved
by you;
that I will not react
to the pure magnitude
of your force;
that I can remain
completely unphased
as you grab the sheet around me
and use it as a weapon to
yank me to my feet
forcing my nakedness against you,
forcing my eyes to meet yours
and calling me out
as a fucking liar
when your two fingers,
trail below my stomach,
my traitorous body witness,
proving
that I am not
only moved
by you,
but starved
for you
to drop
the sheet.
Author's Note: Olympia, by Edouard Manet is probably one of the most glorious depictions of sensuality and feminine knowing I've ever seen. It evokes a passion. I want to move her... she's so fucking sure of herself.
Check out Manet's paintings -- especially Olympia and Un bar aux Folies Bergère (come on, everyone needs French pre-impressionism in his or her life. It changes everything. For real.) http://www.manetedouard.org/
