To Share My Empathy
You're happy,
and I know why.
I want to share it
with the world.
Then they can be happy, too,
but they don’t not understand.
They do not feel
anyone’s emotions
but their own.
You're sad,
and I don't know why.
I feel the pain.
I want to share it
with those around me,
in hope that they can feel it
and make it go away.
They cannot feel it, though,
and they never will.
You're nervous,
and I've been shaking
with fear all day.
I am not nervous,
but you are,
so I feel it too.
They are not there for me,
but I'll be there for you.
I understand.
I can feel it too.
and I know why.
I want to share it
