El Barrio
As the sounds of police sirens screams across El Barrio
A little Tijuana in land of white
A group of boys scream La Raza
Ready to fight
El barrio the place she wishes to escape
El barrio the ghetto place
El barrio place of pride
Where the eagle fly
Where destiny is manifested through gunshots and needles
Dirty exchanges
El barrio lies no less silent
As blood pools around the young soldier his AMA cries, his familia mourn
As she walks down the street hating her home the sirens still ring
Her dream was simple she wished to sing
Her beauty like la Luna her choice was sweet
And she sung softly in El barrio she cried for her dreams had died with the conception of a life and the flat line of another
El barrio
Where brown turns on brown
The meaning of la raza forgotten
El barrio where the eagle had begun to fall
Caged and drugged
Where coca kills the soul
El barrio...
