Last night
on her way home
the moon
scrawled a scream
across my wall
Her goodbye message
wasn't clear
though I heard the echo
in my bones
felt the fates
whispering fire
& blood
There would be
no more trees
for ten million years
a bad day
for humans
in the saga of Earth
but with 99 per cent of species
perished already
& no will to save our work
it was time for Nature
to press her reset button
time to start out
fresh
on her way home
the moon
scrawled a scream
across my wall
Her goodbye message
wasn't clear
though I heard the echo
in my bones
felt the fates
whispering fire
& blood
There would be
no more trees
for ten million years
a bad day
for humans
in the saga of Earth
but with 99 per cent of species
perished already
& no will to save our work
it was time for Nature
to press her reset button
time to start out
fresh
