The Entrance, Exit, and Journey
Death is a doorway.
That is no mystery.
The question begs:
Is death an
entrance
or an exit?
Perhaps
It is an entrance,
to another universe,
A parallel of our life on earth.
Or maybe
it is an exit.
Means of escape,
If your being has caught fire.
But once the threshold of the fallen
is crossed
it terminates not only your existence
but all the others' too,
because once you are deleted
the rest of your life follows you.
Whether death is to enter or to exit,
We do know that it is the beginning
of a journey.
It is a journey with an unknown destination
and an unknown path,
but its doorway is the root
of our expedition,
and from there on, we map out our own way.
That is no mystery.

"Death is a doorway". . .great opening line there. I'm surprised no one else has grasped this! Oh, I forgot, their next door in the Erotic department! Great piece, an excellent observation.

Thank you so much! I've spent a lot of time pondering death (who hasn't!) and I've decided that it can't just be the end of everything, right? So I figured it has to lead to something :) Thanks again!

Depending on our beliefs it is either an entrance or exit. I believe it is an exit of this temporary life on earth to an entrance into eternal life of either blessings or curses, joy or torment. Death is the stepping stone to our true destiny - we either step up or step down.
This is well written, good job.
Best regards, Butterscotch.

That's definitley true that someone's beliefs can make them see certain things about death. I didn't even really think about it that way!
Thank you!
Thank you!

This, "But once the threshold of the fallen
is crossed
it terminates not only your existence
but all the others' too,
because once you are deleted
the rest of your life follows you."
caught me in my tracks. It's a very interesting thought: even when we pass on, what we leave behind continues without us, but who knows, if, as our soul departs what memories remain? all or nothing? I like to think that if our soul survives death that we will know all of where we've been, and also know where we're headed... to a degree:P
