Way Out There

The overwhelming feeling you get
to let go of every regret.
The wish that you were someone else
just to hide from your self.
The wanting to turn back
but knowing you can't change the past.
To look up and count the stars
hoping that someday you will be where they are.
To look down on all the people who have looked down on you
to realize that everything they said, may have been true.
To gaze over this world and no longer care
and maybe then you could join me, way out there.
