why didn't it work

i got these pills you see?
prescribed by the doctor.
i have insomnia.
i have half a one and knocks me out for about 12 hours
i looked on the internet you see?
it says with that medication if i take more than 5 i will die
my heart will slow down to the point that i will never wake up again
i was given 16 you see?
two sets of 8, that were supposed to last me a year.
they didn't
i have depression also you see?
it comes and goes but i decided it would not be a good idea to tell the doctor that.
so one night.
my boyfriend had just cheated on me you see?
and i found out while i was spending the night with him on his birthday.
so i went home and tried to just cry myself to sleep you see?
but at 4am i gave up
i took 8. one whole packet
i wanted to die
i was ready
i had no one who really took the time to care about me.
but i woke up.. like i always do..
and i dont understand
why didn't it work?
