The Hush Hush Note
A young girl
The age of sixteen
Burst through her bedroom door
Slams it shut
Locks it tight
Her face hot and red
From embarrassment
And anger
Crystal tears run down her cheeks
She is not popular
An outcast
Always hidden in the shadows
She thinks she will never fit in
She thinks so little of herself
Scars all up her arms
She thinks she will never be noticed
That she is trash
That she doesn't need to live
She takes a blade
And cuts along her arms
In jagged,
Burning
Bloody patterns
She then opens her door once more
When no one is home
She decides it is her time
To die
She runs down the basement stairs
She pulls out a broken chair
Up to her room
She places it just before the ceiling fan
And she is out again
She runs to the tool-shed
And retrieves a rope
She knots it into a strong noose
And ties it to the base of the fan
She takes a deep breathe
She grabs a pen
And paper
As she writes her three final words
"I'll miss you."
Tears well up in her eyes
She kisses the note
Leaving a perfect pair of glossed lips at the bottem
She holds the note to her heart
And stands on the chair
The noose round' her neck
She stares at the note
And for once she is happy
But then
She thinks
About her friends
About her family
She could never hurt them like this
She tries to slip out of the rope
But before she can
Disaster strikes
The chair, already broken
Snaps under her weight
Her body dangles
As the lip gloss kissed note falls to the ground
And a crystal tear runs down her cheek
Once more
