Sacrifice Or Gift?

The difference between a sacrifice and a gift.
Is that one of them could end up fire lit.
A gift is something you give out of kindness.

Something you put a lot of thought onto.
And something that can come late.
But once you see the joy on their faces, you can both relate.

A gift is handled and made with care.
And it has a red ribbon, very fair.
A sacrifice is like cutting your own hair.

And they say hair holds memories.
It's like cutting off a memory you held onto.
And doing something you might later regret.

Like hurting a person you hold onto.
Or thinking of it at night in bed.
It's like on one side,it can be thoughtful.

But also hurtful,too.
Sacrificing your own looks.
To be able to connect all the dots.

A gift is like a chocolate mousse or cake.
That you make yourself and bake.
You worked on it all day.

and it makes both of you happy away.
While a sacrifice may be brave.
It may lead you to a dark cave.

Full of wonder or even regret.
About your life and fate.
A sacrifice can open a new gate.

Even if a gift does come late.
A sacrifice is bravery, you create to save someone's life.
To be able to sleep peacefully tonight.

While a gift is something you craft with your own hands.
To make someone happy or make amends.
A gift is something you give on birthdays to your friends.

And a sacrifice can be brave, but also bends.
The gift could be butterflies and roses.
While a sacrifice is the rose petals,it decomposes.

Because as I was told once,no petal lasts forever.
Roses are a great gift,however.
Maybe it depends on the color.

White is purity,red is love.
Like the red rose I once had.
A sacrifice  and a gift could exchange.

Like the powers of a mage.
A gift can fly you to the sky.
And a sacrifice is brave,I cannot deny.

And sleep peacefully at night.
