Memories
It was almost buried in the sand.
I remember the sunny sky and his hand.
It feels like I took so many things for granted.
All the memories I had above.
I was a kid and had almost all I wanted.
And yearned for the things I never had.
Like he smell of sand in the air.
And my long,dark brown hair.
I remember just having fun.
No stress, and no need to run.
But sometimes, you don't miss something until you lose it.
If only I could be a kid once again.
I would feel better than a changed man.
I remember the way we used to swim.
When we felt innocent,happy,never grim.
When the cup was filled to the brim.
And everything costed only a dime.
Sometimes,we miss it.
If only I could rewind to that time.
They say, past is in the past.
And the future is so wide, unpredictable and vast.
They say,be happy for what you had been.
Even if it's now only a photo on a screen.
They tell you, appreciate the little things.
Like my feet buried in sand.
When kid me did not understand.
They tell you, remember the things you felt.
And the memories that make you melt.
And then I walk in memory lane.
When I was at the beach, nobody to blame.
They tell me,move on.
From the happy times and laughs.
Be happy it lasted.
Even if at the end it did crash.
Because memories are so wide and vast.
We could walk among them and remember the little things.
So take me back to a time.
When I was happy,on cloud nine.
To a land of memories astray.
Nostalgic feeling all the way.
When I used to dance and sway to the rhythm.
And ate all the candy I would ever want.
A life,healthy as a potted plant.
So take me to the sky whenever.
Where live our favorite cartoon characters and all of our dreams.
When we sat and watched them on movie screens.
Childhood doesn't always last.
But our future is unpredictable and vast.
Like a spell a mage cast.
Make sure the memories last.
I remember the sunny sky and his hand.
It feels like I took so many things for granted.
All the memories I had above.
