His Biggest Foe

There he sits,
arms around his head.
Knees tucked in tight,
his face is now bold red.
Classmates crowd around,
chuckling at his pain.
Slowly tears flood out,
like clouds releasing rain.
How I wish I could help him,
make it all okay.
I would shadow all his sorrow,
take him far away.
But see, the distance is the problem,
we're miles and miles apart.
Yet, I can hear his weaping sobs,
and feel his throbbing heart.

His silence says it all,
his expressions tell all statements.
None of this is his fault,
he was diagnosed with these ailments.
Everyday, teased, bruised, and laughed at.
No more could he take, and to his head he put a gat.
Walking in I see his finger,
Hesitantly shaking on the trigger.
He was sweaty and was crying.
Physically alive, emotionally dying.
He glanced at me,
through the reflection of the window.
And what else across his face did he bestow?
But a slight smile full of pain, rememberance, and regret.
"I know it's been a while. But did you think I would forget?"
I slowly walk towards him, watching his every move.
"Yeah, it has been a while. But the last part, you'll have to prove."
He cocks the gun, it echos loudly in the attic.
"I know it's really tough, but isn't this a bit dramatic?"
The grins wipes off his face,
He stands still in his place.
He drops the gun, falls to his knees,
And I hear his whispered words.
The sky turns blue, and I hear the whistling of the birds.
"I'll take you away," I say.
"I promise, this, I'll keep."
But he doesn't want to go,
cause Im his biggest foe.
I've hurt him the most all along.
I didn't realize I
made everything so wrong.
