wilted smile
I have a flower for you
I fear it's not good enough
For
I found it half dead
outside of a funeral
I've bathed it in the faith
that I could revive it's spirit
to once again
know the beauty
Which lies within
Together in this machine
we grind through
each others path
on two sides of the
Excursion
we are drawn
into this map
You're up there on the platoe
while the canyon
calls my name
So,
I see
a long climb before me
with no short-cuts
in the game
Only one way to rise
so I can look into your eyes
Face to face on the field
Running in stride
Step by step
the dance carries on
Mimicking the past
until the music is gone
Tho my heart
will keep singing
long after my death
I wish to embrace you
until my last breath...
I fear it's not good enough
For
I found it half dead
outside of a funeral
I've bathed it in the faith
that I could revive it's spirit
to once again
know the beauty
Which lies within
Together in this machine
we grind through
each others path
