Left Alone
Your life may have ended
But my nightmares did not
You abandoned me here
To fight them off alone
Lucky you get to rest
Whilst i cry in the battle
Of the night
The days are blended
Tightening the knot
Of a rope so drear
The misery has grown
As the grief will infest
Into the shackle
I can't fight
Without you, I've surrendered
To the dreams of distraught
Never a slumber without a tear
Is this Gods way to make me atone
For being ungrateful to what I had been blessed?
In essence handing the apple
For me to bite
But my nightmares did not
You abandoned me here
To fight them off alone
Lucky you get to rest
Whilst i cry in the battle
Of the night
The days are blended
Tightening the knot
Of a rope so drear
The misery has grown
As the grief will infest
Into the shackle
I can't fight
Without you, I've surrendered
To the dreams of distraught
Never a slumber without a tear
Is this Gods way to make me atone
For being ungrateful to what I had been blessed?
In essence handing the apple
For me to bite
