weep
you told me to cry it was alright
big tears I held back
my midnight came and I hid
stiffening as I felt them come
releasing my fears they gather as shadows about me
the dark I revered
looking so sad
big long faces were the hurt I held
they each shouldered some of the sorrow and pain
big beefy men
reduced to the sum of all the world sent my way
they carry the scars of the battlefield
sometimes I swung wide and cut them
they look at me solemnly
and with genuine sadness
they utter honey it's time to let go
we won't leave you but we too need rest
to carry a mountain
my petty thoughts on pride dissolved
this was my family
extending my soul I weep for the moment
and cried in their arms
letting it all go, my burdens
