Empty With You
Looking on with awe,
Counting your steps as you walk away.
If only you knew how much it kills me inside.
You let me talk to you,
But I can feel the reluctance in your voice.
If only you knew…
I see other people talking to you,
You smile at them, hanging off their every word.
On the inside I'm screaming, telling them to stop.
On the outside I cover it up,
Try not to think about it.
But it keeps eating away inside of me,
Like a vulture pecking the remains of something once alive.
I'm empty now,
I need you back, best friend.
Please….
Please….
