The New Woman

I envy her, the new woman,
Whose lips you now taste,
Gently, tenderly, like a secret
Whispered between breaths.
Her body is a temple that chains,
A captor of your soul I could not hold,
A purveyor of the sweetest euphoria.

She now lies beside you in darkness,
Her warmth, a stark reminder
Of the stranger now hold in my bed.
Forgive me, for I covet
The sinful thrill of your touch,
A remnant of longing for the forbidden,
A delight that dances with shadows.

I praise the new woman, this stranger,
The new keeper of your heart's desires,
She effortlessly holds you in her moist folds.
How tenderly she must cradle you there,
In the dwindling hours of love and loss.
Love each other as much as you can
In the little time you both have left.
