Friction

It felt like a bumblebee waltzing with my heart
Gravity so strong the universe couldn't rip us apart
I remember staring forever back into a butterfly's eyes
Watching the eternal collide as moons fell and suns rise

I listened to feathers speaking as they fell of my failure
Feathers gliding on forever whispers like acrobatic aerial sailors
As my achievements were carried up high screaming from eagle's wings
Love's burning smoke engulfed me, shielding me from the world's sting

And I, I was oblivious to living my life between the universe's tusk
There was a field mouse behind a podium try to teach me need and must
But I could only comprehend what drove me as the wilderbeast
One Giraffe forming a ladder lifted me to the highest peaks

The universal frequency was being overridden by a stronger signal
The call of the wild for you and I to eternally commingle
We were as in separable as north and south magnetic poles
And as deep and indistinguishable as an abyss from a hole

Our natural love checked all war and placed death in flight
The Aurora Borealis was capped as no more than candle lights
Tsunamis barely lapped at the shorelines of our loving minds
Planets refused to rotate and stars refused to shine within our time

Forever woven into love's embrace, an eternal silky cocoon
Darkness in all of its selfishness refused to yield and allow room
As we lie here face to face compressed but without restriction
There is both mental and physical freedom shared by our friction
