Letters to you

A letter a day
Keeps the pain away
Four year deployment
And I feel lost in what it meant

The pride I feel
Tears,
Lots of tears
They flow like a river
It’s like a never ending winter

Writing you,
I hope my letters find their way
I hope it makes your day

The army base
You lay in wait
For however long it takes

Safety,
I pray
Everyday
Until next time
