Last Look at the Sea
Tired and weary eyes scan the horizon
In search of a lost friend and the beloved son
Hands on the knees, heavy breathe and lips barely apart
Standing by the shore, wipes his tears as he slowly departs
A broken soul subtly smiles, he is finally free
And waves goodbye as he takes one last look at the sea
An old man with muddy clothes and an old body
Who left his past, fled from home, and became nobody
Dreams to be free in the new town streets
But the cold-hearted stares hover around
And redundant questions push him back to the sea
A childless man back to the shore; just one refugee!
