He Has a Book in Him
He has a book in him
Must be kind of uncomfortable.
The book in him
will likely never be expelled
In phantom form it duels with your nearly finished work
excising it cleanly away
He simply has no interest
in what you write.
He has a book in him.
He has a book in him
Your book does not exist
Neither do you, really
Your purpose is to listen to him talk
About the book in him.
Must be kind of uncomfortable.

In phantom form it duels with your nearly finished work
excising it cleanly away
He simply has no interest

About the book in him.

You actually write and write well. This was an ex-boyfriend I hadn't spoken to in about five years.

Dear PD,
😂😂😂😂😂
Yup! I thought my eyes would never go back into place after rolling around my head in abject boredom. Write the damn thing or stop talking about it. The refrain throughout this piece is awesomely repeated to drive home the point. 👍🏻

Thanks for pointing out that the refrain works well. I suppose almost everyone has a story to tell, which is cool, but the really cool people are the ones who get it told.

You make me contemplate the DUP..."poets"...who shot their political forum mouths off regularly for months but have very rarely written a poem, as evidenced at their profiles, which has me asking, just what the fuck are they here for?
Propaganda betrays itself.

Interesting. I didn't know that was happening here. Best they spout off elsewhere or turn their views into poetic works.
Re. He Has a Book in Him
I wanna bitch slap him.
Who the hell cares about your toenail fungus or how everyone you know has a last name and a place of origin and I’ll never meet them or keep all of it straight, and who does that? Who cares that Mikey Miller from Atlanta called today about his grandkids dance recital, blah, blah, blah…
I’m gonna end up flopping on the floor like a fish who jumped out of her tank, dying from boredom, while he goes on and on (and on).
While I have real shit to say in a semi-poetic way and he could care less.
Did I say I know someone like this?
Love your poem, Pink.

I remember being at a party and watching a friend being victimized by a nonstop talker (all about herself of course). Later my friend quipped "I thought that conversation would never end. And I wasn't even part of it." Too much of that in the world.
Thanks for the RL.

Totally can relate. So many people love to boast about themselves and they do jack shit! Whether it's writing or something else they clam they have interest or passion. People love to hear themselves talk. Fuck most people! This was a wonderful piece!

Thank you. Hearing the babbling of unrealized people is indeed tedious. I do my best to stay attuned to whether my listener is interested. I no doubt fail now and then.

Ooh, good point there about the information collectors. They are the ones who love the phrase "You can trust me,"
And yes, balance for the win.
