My Time
I want to be me again,
To dance in the street, no
shame, no end, Who cares if
anyone's watching?
This is my moment, my joy,
my trend.
I long to hike alone, Just me,
the sky, the earth, the unknown,
The fresh air whispers my name,
As I embrace the peace
I’ve never known.
So close the door, don’t try to follow,
This is my time, my heart's
hollow— Filling now with laughter,
with light, With moments that
make everything right.
I’ll visit Austin, feel the carnival glow,
Let the music lift me, let my spirit flow.
And let me laugh, let me dance,
Let me find joy in every chance.
I deserve to be free,
I deserve to be me,
To walk my path, so wild and true,
To be happy, simply, as I renew.
