I will never write like Bukowski
because I did not have a hard life
I will never write like Ginsberg
because Moloch is not my daemon
I will never write like Angelou
because I am not phenomenal when I rise
I will never write like Rumi
because I gave up looking for Shams a long time ago
No, I am not that kind of writer
and yet, that kind of writer helped me find the one I am
