a walk today
As I inhale fresh air
beyond quietude
half way the street
a sudden flash
of lightning
I am reminded of old gothic black and white films
nebulous moments are passing where wild light
and wind approach me
standing on a balustrade
I hold on to the railing
staring into that luminal space
milky wayed
spirit hands play
in the milky white sea
swim snakes
Medusa shakes her hair
“we are all limbs
of the same body“
she says
as hail hammers down
held by the gaze
her prospect of darkness
becomes me

Author's Note
There is nothing like the crazy Norse weather of the West coast, gotta love it though for it brings all kinds of miraculous moments! You would think this was a black and white image though its not, its just amazing how from almost no colors all can change within an hour or so. During the storm all the colors were gone.

Dear A,
Stunning vista and poem combo. It made me want to take stock in my surroundings and feel more freely any emotion that comes to surface. Otherwise there’s a metaphoric storm in my head. I enjoyed that you get the splendor of that beautiful pic and I can joy it because you shared it. H🌷

I adore Medusa. Her plight, not just involving her transformation but the mythology and step toward the patriarchy, is used as a weapon. To me, she is the epitome of not being heard and symbolizes how we demonize current day victims. Her darkness and experience should be enlightening for us all and is a prime example of turning away from truth.
This poem deeply touched me that there was another soul out there who allows the prospect of her darkness to envelop them to the point of enlightenment. Thank you for sharing this beauty - Medusa is indeed a storm to be reckoned with.

Yes Ahavati dear wise sister, all the things which you have so carefully pointed out are reflected in the poem. I think many stories are demystified in many ways. I like to hunt for the authentic ones.
Medusa is dear to me, her snake long hair was reflected in the water.
It was an amazing storm, all color was gone for a while except for a milky white reflection in the water and a crust of snow upon the far hill. I love all the darker myths, Medusa was supposed to be the only gorgon that was not immortal but in order to be heroic they had to deal with her. For me this is also reflected in the times we live in.
I always tend to cheer when I get a so called darker card if I pull a card, so much to learn from these. They are challenges for the light to come out, greetings love and blessings

Fantastic imagery and poem, blew me away. I love hail when it patters on my window as it soothes my thinking. Being caught in a hail-storm though, find a tree very quickly for cover or under someone's garage, LOL!
