Forgiveness
Forgiveness
Eagerly you build your own bird cage
Accusements, anger and revenge
Are the bars surrounding you
Like in a never-ending loop
You replay hurtful experiences
In front of your inner eye
Forgive!
Forgive freely!
Forgive others!
Forgive yourself!
Your plumage has turned pale
Your song doesn't sound happy anymore
Now is the time to let go of
Resentments, trouble and despair
All the self-destructive feelings
You have carried far too long
Forgive!
Forgive freely!
wForgive others!
Forgive yourself!
Forgiveness does not pretend
That nothing had happened to you
It's a profound act of self-care
Free yourself from the chains
Tying you to the wrong doer
Claim back your peace of mind
Forgive!
Forgive freely!
Forgive others!
Forgive yourself!
Little bird, don't you realize
The door of your cage is wide open
Don't live in the past, start right now
Forgive, shape your life as you wish Move on, spread your wings and fly
New adventures are waiting for you!
