Before it's too late
Every time she lies to him
He's going to punch her in the head
"Got that?"
"When did I lie?"
He hit her
She got up and sat down before her legs gave out
"If you hit me again I'm going to call the police"
He hit her again
She slumped over in the chair
"Please stop, I've been true to you!"
He hit her again
[i]"Christ! Please Stop!!!!"[/i]
He hit her again
She screamed
He hit her again
He hit her again
She's unconscious
He finally pulled back
He left her slumped over in the chair
He went to bed
Tomorrow's another day
Maybe this time she'll get the courage and leave, before it's too late.

Yup. We all know some people that go through this shit. Quite sad and disturbing. I wrote it for people that are going through this to get out before it's too late.

could relate this .. reminds me of my those once days , but yes had the courage to come out of that , hitting back in the right quarters .. with determination rather than physically:) your writes are a needful wish n awareness to come out if such abuse in relationships Keith xx

Sometimes we see our future laid out in black & blue & we find the courage to get out before it's too late. Sometimes we don't. This is such a stark portrayal of far too many realities. I'm very thankful I got out before it escalated this far...because I saw what it was building to. Not everyone sees with such clarity. And not everyone believes they deserve better, unfortunately. Thank you for highlighting reality here

Powerful write, Keith. Unfortunately, some of these men have wealth or some kind of public favor. Most hide behind a mask in public, and can even appear somewhat human. These monsters should be buried under the prison. Appreciate you.

Absolutely. Many have many masks they wear. One for the job, one as a family man, one when there in church, etc...No one sees the true identity sadly until it's too late. Thanks for your comments my friend.
