Cheers 🥂 To Love 💞

I used to think love was hard to find, That only a few ever truly had it. It's crazy how, when we talk to someone new, And they ask about our ex, we start naming all their flaws, How much we detest them. But that’s not all there is, I promise.  
He or she made you laugh countless times, Acting goofy at the checkout line. It was inside jokes that only you two knew, She’d roll her eyes, and he couldn’t help but laugh. It was the way she looked in the morning, With her adorable yawn.  
You mean to tell me there wasn’t a happy moment, A single one that made you smile? It’s crazy how the kids these days See things so much faster than we do.  
The boy who currently courts my daughter’s heart Asked her if she had loved her ex, To which she responded, “Yes, of course. Do you want me to lie and say no?” “I can’t do that. It just didn’t work, That’s life. He had the old me, You get the new me.” A kid wiser beyond her years, She gave me food for thought as I pondered.  
It’s okay to admit you loved in the past, For what is life worth living If we can’t admit our hearts once beat For someone, for love? No feeling can give you the rush that love does.
