The grace of God kept me alive
Broken down,sad and destitute
I was lost and had no drive

Author's Note
Years ago when the internet was new I met a young lady online. She told me her ex beat her so bad she had a miscarriage. She also told me her father died when she was young and her mother died in a car accident recently. This made me really feel for her. We became great friends and then more. I was young and inexperienced and found out ultimately that she was a scammer. I was crushed. I wrote this song because I remembered how great it felt thinking she was real. It’s been decades and I have never felt the same since. Being unactractive is not easy. You don’t get to meet a lot of opportunities.

To me this reads as a great ode and an experience of feeling completed. Its still a miracle how sometimes one can meet another individual and then this turns out to be a connection. And its so true, some people one never forgets. Greetings and blessings,

Thank you Rianne. I really appreciate your comment. I wish I knew a good vocalist because I wrote it for 12 string acoustic guitar backed with drums, 6 string bass, keyboard and electric guitar. I can’t find anyone in my area to play with so I’m just going to play all the instruments myself. In your opinion, as a song do you hear it as country or rock? Thanks again.
