Reveals The Direction
Another hour passes in a distorted flash
Ambitious details scattered across time
Fantasy meets reality such a fatal crash
It’s only a secret if nobody drops a dime
Promises get lost amidst this chaotic ride
Every scenario imaginable unlocks a hurdle
Caught in a moment filled with foolish pride
Regret comes back around again full-circle
Masks fade with years sounds so clever
But this bitter memory stains all meaning
Standing in a bullseye reaching for a lever
Reveals the direction one’s faith is leaning

Hello Damian,
In what ever direction I believe there is often a purpose. Many fragments and moments of our lives can act as tiny mirrors. Masks do fade with given years as we peel off each old layer. Sometimes we hold the lance other times we drop it. Perhaps we do indeed wonder and wander to await the reveals of each direction. Food for thought you have offered in this poem, greetings and blessings

Dear DL,
I echo Pete_25, I think each line has its own poetic value and massive message. As a collective to me, it narrates moments in life that plunge forward or give pause. I really enjoyed this write. H🌷

The truth is, there is no neutrality. Doing nothing aligns with the darker sides. And those who reveal their hidden reality sometimes startle us...others not so much. I used to believe one could be supportive from the neutral corner. Not true. I'm finding that the more obscenely ugly it gets, the less my mouth is inclined to remain closed. Instinct is what keeps us from taking some chances...usually for good reason. Another thought stirring piece here

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. I'm glad you connected with the write, my friend. I agree that instinct is what keeps us from taking chances. It is hard to be effective supporting from a neutral corner. Doesn't help it's almost impossible to stay neutral. Because most people insist that you choose a side. Always enjoy your commentary. Appreciate you.
