Full Moon Silverlight

The pearl full moon floats in a star pricked sea,
casting upon the ocean's swell
a crystal chipped path
ripples of rocky reflected light
born of the sun that gilds my beloved’s face
in the land where she resides,
far beyond my sunset.

I cannot, in this dusty reflection,
chase her hot shadow,
but silverlight blends
with my eventide shade
and I dance on the shoreline,
stepping with the pearled ribbons
that lace and purl the briny ruffles.

The sea breeze,
another finger of the zephyr’s hand
that twines her flowing hair,
whispers, surrendering mystic songs
cast to the sky, before my sunrise.

Alone on this nocturnal beach, shaded with full
moon tones, I raise friable castles in the sand,
dampened with ocean water swept in streamlines
from the palm-tree swathe
where she skips foam flecked waves
rolling and swirling about her feet.

I trawl my fingers in the darkened swell,
chasing the rippling glitter —
silverlight sighs from the sun that beams on my beloved,
far beyond my sunset.
Author's Note
Moonlight is reflected sunlight.   When sunlight shines on the other side of the world, moonlight shines here.   Someone is on the beach in the light of the full moon.   This full moon light makes him feel closer to his beloved, on whom the sun is currently shining.  He imagines also that the wind and the ocean water unite them.
