Karma comes knocking
Cornfields and cattle spurs
road meandering onwards
bitter wind making the snow dance
come upon st. charles
ice cream shop sign says
closed for the season
more road more towns
some of these places
look to have committed
some kind of self treason
empty school
can almost see
children playing
turn the corner
nothing but graffiti and weeds
this isn’t the inner city
this is the land of
family values and character
monster trucks side by sides
with a lincoln
parked in that garage
payed for by subsidies
we all adhor

Rural communities controlled by people who use the system to enrich themselves. While creating mass poverty. Taking subsidy money and shaming mothers and children. That will now lay them wide open in their own backyards.
