"getting poetic" (i hate the beach)
i hate the beach
but your smile is the sun that shines over my shoulders (it doesn't burn)
but your cold hands surf over mine like the tide (are you cold?)
but the bands in your braces are the jellies on the shore (you're brighter than every color you like)
but the teeth behind them are a shark's lost and found (you'd never bite)
i hate the sand, but when the shells score my feet you just put them in your pocket
i hate the sand, but you brush it off and take my hand
i hate the beach, but i love you
