lost cause
that tree
standing
off by
itself,
dying alone,
lonely,
no passion
left to
keep it
alive,
no tender
touch
to remind
it to
breathe.

Many of us have been that tree at one time or another. I like the subtle but powerful emotion in this.

Dear J,
This poem made my heart skip a beat. In transferring the idea of this from nature to human I had to hold myself accountable for not being aware of someone’s pain. Introspective piece. Well written as per. H🌷

I wish I could say something as profound as Honoria, but she's pretty amazing when it comes to comments (it's true though, what she said).
Your poem is stunning, Jimmy.
